LECTURE BY ISADORA  DUNCAN, 2020
Man, all people, the whole world has to dance, this has always been and will be the case. There is no point in trying to prevent it; to not want to understand the natural need created by nature itself. That's all!" Isadora Duncan (1877-1927)
The work consists of two simple geometric pieces; a white ‘paper’ sheet of light and a horizontal aluminium tube, which together form a temporal-kinesthetic sculpture floating in the upper air.
The work reacts to its environment with a constant subtle movement, controlled by the natural air currents of the space. The pieces  that react differently to light seem to dance with each other, while constantly defining the surrounding space. The gloving sheet has a special technical coating that produces the whitest white, evenly reflective matte surface.
The precise forms and dimensions of the pieces continue the industrial design language of the history of the new Event Space and the Cable Factory itself. It is as if the pieces have emerged directly from the strap as ‘newborns’ to radiate their own inherent nature without productive or economic ‘pressures’.
Isadora Duncan was a self-taught dancer, a pioneer of plastic dance and one of the most revered names in the new dance of the 20th century. Her life’s work has had a significant impact and connection to the later development of modern dance. Duncan created a new way of thinking about art, life and dance as a means of expression. She also visited Helsinki to perform. Eino Leino, a Finnish journalist and poet, considered a national poet of Finland; wrote a critique and description of the performance.
With this work Isadora would  ‘return to Helsinki to give her lecture’

FREDRIKAS MORGON, 2020
"Fredrika was restless. She had been watching all night. A lifetime a pen in her hand. At dawn she knew.          Everything will change. ”

As part of the park, the painting opens up a reflection of the sky and horizon, a respite from the dense urban environment of Runeberginkatu. The old maple gets a piece of the April morning sky in the background.
A magical moment with the glow of the red sun blushing the blue sky.
New day's dawn. The work is a tribute to the life and work of Fredrika Runeberg (1807-1879) a Finnish novelist, journalist and the wife of Finland's national poet Johan Ludvig Runeberg.                                                            She was a pioneer of Finnish historical fiction.
The mural is done in two shades. The top of the wall from the ridge is blue of the sky. As it descends, the blue hue will gradually turn into hot red. The lower part of the wall up to the stone foot is entirely red. The gradient area that emerges in the middle creates an image of the sun rising from the horizon.
The final shades of the work are selected on a site-specific basis, assimilated to its surroundings, its colors, lighting conditions and materials.
The idea of painting was born out of the watercolor experiments. I wanted to find a simple way to bring same space and the airiness into the tight spot of Runeberginkatu park.

ROSEGARDEN OF BARONNESS ELSA, 2017
The titel refers to the work and life of the artist Elsa von Freytag-Loringhoven (1874-1927) The Baroness  worked on assemblage sculptures and paintings, creating art out of the rubbish and refuse she collected from the streets. The Baroness was also known to construct elaborate costumes from found objects. This makes her the first known artist using recycling and the idea of  'ready made' in her art practise.
The public art work "ROSEGARDEN OF BARONNESS ELSA"  for the area of  Kujala waste station in Lahti propoced to look at waste as Elsa did, with creative open eyes. The communal waste center  got a pink glass fence that both protected the precious waste and let the visitors take a look at it  with new color. The fence was planned to create a spatial painting that would appear in the minds of visitors moving closer/leaving to the area with their vans and lorries. The artwork would addapt to the entrance roadturns and to the rhytm of the yards and  buildings. The proposal  won a place among the finalist 2017.
